What is the ratio of angular speed of minute hand to hour hand of a watch?

In a standard watch, the watch face is composed of 12 hours and 60 minutes.


One revolution of the hour hand lasts 12 hours. Angular speed expressed in rpm of hour hand is : 



One revolution of the minute hand lasts 60 minutes, or 1 hour. Angular speed expressed in rpm of minute hand is : 



We can easily conclude the ratio of angular speed of the minute hand to the hour hand is  , or 12:1.
