In French : « un envoi » or « un envoie » ?
In French, the two spellings envoi and envoie are correct but do not have the same meaning:
- envoi without the final 'e' is a name: Un envoi postal <=> A shipment
- envoie is a conjugated verb (envoyer / to send ): Il envoie une lettre <=> He sends a letter.
Here are some example:
Il envoie un envoi. <=> He's sending a shipment.
Je t'envoie un courrier dès demain. <=> I'll send you a mail tomorrow.
Il envoie le boomerang trop loin. <=> He sends the boomerang too far.
Un envoi sera moins cher. <=> A shipment will be cheaper.
