In French, what do we call the inhabitants of a city?

In French, people who live in cities are called citadins (city-dweller)

They are also sometimes referred to as urbains.


For example:


Aujourd'hui, les jeunes citadins n'achètent plus de voiture. <=> Young city dwellers no longer buy a car.

Les urbains sont plus réceptifs que les autres. <=> Urban people are more receptive than others.
