How to write a fraction in LaTeX?

Answer   Submitted by Answiki on 02/27/2022 at 05:20:00 PM UTC

fraction = \frac {numerator} {denominator}

displays:

  • \dfrac is for display mode  (applies the style used for equations outside the text)
  • \tfrac is for text mode (applies the style used for the equations in the text)
  • \frac automatically selects the applied style from the two above.

For example, x = \tfrac{1}{2} = \dfrac{1}{2} displays:
