Question #6064   Submitted by Answiki on 04/13/2022 at 08:14:51 PM UTC

Should the currency 'dollar' be capitalized?

Answer   Submitted by Answiki on 04/13/2022 at 08:21:58 PM UTC

Currencies are common nouns. They are always written with the first letter in lower case, unless they are at the beginning of a sentence.

For example :

I have ten euros and fifteen cents.

A dollar in the present is worth more than a dollar in the future.

Dollar slips lower in dull dealings

Euro or dollar, I don't care!
