In the French NF C 15-100 standard, what is a light point?
The French NF C 15-100 standard (771.314.2.3) about light points is not always easy to interpret. However, the standard specifies that in the case of spotlights or strip lights, one lighting point must be counted for every 300 VA in the same room.
For the rest, it is recommended to consider :
- one bulb is equivalent to one light point
- a DCL socket (6A max) is equivalent to one light point.
- if a switch controls several bulbs or DCL sockets, it is equivalent to as many light points.
Finally, please make sure that the current consumed by the whole circuit never exceeds the circuit breaker rating.
