In French, what do we call the inhabitants of the French « Grand Est » region?
There is currently no official name for the French Grand Est region. It is therefore appropriate to say or write:
« Les habitants de la région Grand Est »
We sometimes find the usages Grands-Estois, Grandestois, Grand-Estiens, Grandestiens or Grandestins, but none of them is the official name of the Grand Est region.
Note, however, that the former regions that make up the Grand Est each have a name:
- Alsace : Alsacien
- Lorraine : Lorrain
- Champagne-Ardenne : Champardennais
