To extend the wires to the electrical panel, there are 3 options:
- The best optopn is to replace cables that are too short with cables of the right length. This is not always possible and can quickly become tedious or risky ( thread puller or needle breakage) if the ICTA sheaths are long or winding.
- When one is forced to work with the existing, it is possible to extend the wires using one or more dominoes (or terminal blocks with automatic connection like Wago). Ensured that the dominos and terminal blocks remain accessible. Check your country's legislation to make sure this solution is allowed.
- If there are many cables to be extended, and to avoid the accumulation of terminal blocks or dominoes in the sheath, DIN rail terminal blocks should be used. DIN rails are the rails at the bottom of the switchboards on which the circuit breakers are mounted. There are terminal blocks specially designed to be mounted on DIN rails. It is possible to use free spaces in the switchboard or to install an additional box. For example, a one-row box can be fixed on top of the GTL and will act as a tap-off box for the rest of the panel. This solution generally has the advantage of providing an additional earth terminal block, which reduces the number of cables in the electrical panel.
