Here are the different agreements of the French adjective vieux:

  • masculine singular: vieuxvieil*
  • masculine plural: vieux
  • feminine singular: vielle
  • feminine plural: vielles

*Note: vieil is used before a masculine singular noun beginning with a vowel or a silent h (e.g.: un vieil ami).

For example:

Il a trouvé un vieux livre.

Ce vieil appartement.

C'est un vieil hôpital.

La vieille dame est rentrée.

Les vieux couteaux.

Les vielles charrues.
