According to French standards, how many electrical outlets can be connected to the same circuit (or circuit breaker)?

Answer   Submitted by Answiki on 06/22/2022 at 07:23:45 PM UTC

The NF C 15-100 standard specifies that the maximum number of outlets per circuit is :

  • 8 outlets for a 1.5 mm² cable circuit with a 16 A circuit breaker.
  • 12 outlets for a 2.5 mm² cable circuit with a circuit breaker up to 20 A.

Note that classically,

  • the light circuits are wired in 1.5 mm² on a 10 A circuit breaker
  • socket circuits are wired in 2.5 mm² on a 16 A circuit breaker
  • the specialized socket circuits are wired in 2.5 mm² on a 20 A circuit breaker
